Mortgage Ops Loan Specialist I-729788
The Home Loans Operations Loan Specialist I is responsible for responding and providing information to customers, vendors and other third party service providers within department standards of production, accuracy and timeliness to assure the customer receives the appropriate documents, containing correct information, on time, for a scheduled closing.
Initiate outbound customer contact as needed to relay loan status, set expectations, clarify loan details, answer questions and manage the customer relationship in order to achieve a superior customer experience.
Process incoming customer, vendor or third party documents as outlined in departmental procedures and as directed by team/department leadership
Complete system workflows for roles assigned by team/department leadership
Ensure all required tasks are performed to secure an enforceable lien
Audit loan notes and major events to understand and perform outstanding file requirements
Input data correctly and accurately
Provides appropriate documentation to applicants, vendors and other third parties at appropriate times throughout the process
Provide appropriate communication to internal and external customers with focus on the customer experience and timely processing
Ensure that customer documents are placed in appropriate system folders
Ensure that policies, guidelines and procedures are followed including compliance regulations (HMDA, TILA, RESPA, HOEPA, FCRA and ECOA) and credit guidelines
Maintain department performance standards in order to keep loans flowing into appropriate loan operations queues
Contribute to the ongoing Home Loans Operations efforts to deliver process efficiencies to reduce costs and improve quality and productivity
Participate in various department projects and cross-trains for additional responsibilities as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:
Education and/or Certifications:
A post-secondary education in related field is a plus.
Mortgage Banking licenses or courses an asset.
Technical skills and abilities:
Computer literate in a network environment
Ability to type proficiently, 30 words per minute preferred
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of the mortgage lending industry
