          As a Capital One Director, you will be integrated into the business and will work closely with Business and Data Analysts leaders. You will lead Statistical and analytical problem solving with a goal of improving profitability and the effectiveness of business decisions.           Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

          - Consult with business leaders to develop and implement statistical solutions and models (scoring models and valuation models) to address and influence complex business problems that maximize business value and enhance the customer experience
          - Hire, develop and manage of team of up to 15 high-performing associates with advanced degrees
          - Lead a team of Statisticians in creating new models, tracking established models and applying statistical thinking to new business domains
          - Set the strategic director for a specific team or department
          - Advance the statistical capabilities and competencies of the line of business and Capital One overall
          - Ensure defendability of modeling results by providing effective challenge and independent oversight and review
          - Influencing positive change through leadership, sound statistical and quantitative analysis and demonstrated subject matter expertise
          - Identify changes required in Capital One practices, defines project scope, executes and evaluates projects, manages individuals, champions new ideas and influences senior leaders
          - Develop understanding of Capital One’s broad statistical needs in order to design, develop and deploy systematic improvements across the organization

          The desired experience and skill set for the ideal candidate include:

          - Experience with logistic regression, decision trees, survival analysis, design of experiment and other statistical techniques
          - Impeccable written and oral communication skills, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
          - Leveraging education, colleagues and training opportunities to develop solutions to business problems
          - Conceptual thinking skills complemented by a strong quantitative orientation
          - A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics
          - End-to-end solution development
          - Leadership and management of Statistical teams and/or departments
          - Interpersonal skills to support successful influence on issues of importance
          - Experience working directly with auditors and regulators

          Qualifications
          Basic Qualifications

          - Bachelors degree in Statistics or similar quantitative field of study (Math, Economics, Financial Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, etc.)
          - 7+ years of experience in Statistical modeling and analysis
          - 3+ years of people management experience

          Preferred Qualifications

          - Masters degree or higher in Statistics or similar quantitative field of study (Math, Economics, Financial Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, etc.)
          - 10+ years of experience in Statistical modeling and analysis
          - 7+ years of experience in analytical consulting
          - 7+ years of experience in technical documentation
          - 7+ years of experience leading complex analytical projects
          - 7+ years of project management experience
          - 7+ years of experience working with relational databases
          - 7+ years of direct management and leadership experience
          - 5+ years of experience building Statistical models in Financial Services
          - 5+ years of qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting
          - 5+ years of experience with multivariate linear and logistic regression
          - 5+ years of experience with experimental design
          - 2+ years of experience in Financial Services
          - Proficiency in English written and verbal communication
          - Proficiency with SAS, Decision Tree or R
          - CFA, SQL, SAS and/or FRM certifications
